1. Record noise -- occasional clicks and pops - are part of the sound of vinyl, but with an LP played on an audiophile-grade turntable those noises recede into the background. They really do.

I tend not to put my very rare LP's in the frames but when I have wanted to put them in i've taken out the vinyl. Like with Neil Youngs Decade, obviously a triple LP so too thick with 3 vinyl albums and all the sleeves to deal with. You should be okay though.

6. Improper storage, exposure to heat, and cats can lead to warped vinyl. Warped vinyl can lead to a wobbly sounding rendition of your favorite song. Fortunately, warped records can often be fixed, so you can be back to rockin' and rollin' in no time. You'll need two sheets of glass larger than your album, but small enough to fit in your oven.

7. Sep 09,  · I need some tips. They're also sometimes on the vinyl label! I usually leave fingernail scrapes and indents. Not good. There's always lots of glue residue and I used alcohol to remove the glue but now it dissolved the cover off my "Then & Now, The Best of the Monkees" lp.

8. For cleaning, I use a VPI Throw away the Discwasher.. I have one too, since the late 70s. I’ve had the VPI for 17 years. Use a carbon fiber brush to clean up the LP before each play. Recording, I now use an M-Audio Firewire using Cubase. It’s hard work but the results into 24/96 WAV are fabulous. I think I’ll look into Vinyl Studio.
